Daisymee Peach All Day Moisturizing 3 Second Booster 50ml

What is it:

For a beautiful translucent glow, Daisymee Peach All Day Moisturizing 3 second Booster has all natural peach ingredients to enhance cell elasticity. The superior moisturizing effect made by the peaches with high-purity hyaluronic acid combined with the Daisymee orginal R & D skin caught water system, rapidly improves skin moisture and elasticity.

Directions:

Apply daily and continue for 28 days to see the visible result of hydrated and glowing skin.

I have yet to try Daisymee Peach All Day Moisturizing 3 second Booster out. But I reckon this would probably be something similar to that of Loreal Youth Code Pre-essence. Will update you guys again about this soon!

Eternal Concept Active Nourishment Body Cream + Mineral Hand Cream

What is it:

Active Nourishment Body Cream –

Formulated from a rich, creamy blend of Avocado, Aloe Vera & Shea Butter.

Contain natural active ingredients that are essential for healthy, nourished & radiant skin. This high-performance cream absorbs quickly to provide instant nourishment and relief to tried, dry & irritated skin.

Mineral Hand Cream with Shea Butter –

Contains rich combination of Shea Butter, Dead Sea salts & minerals, natural plant extracts, vitamins A & E. It helps re-hydrate and nourish even the driest of skin to effectively heal small wound & combat dry skin.

My thoughts:

I really like this hand cream. Scent-wise, its pretty much acceptable though it doesn't smell the best. I like how moisturizing it is and how it absorbs readily into my skin. Plus, this hand cream doesn't leave fingerprints on my devices.

In fact, I am rather reliant on hand cream especially after I entered the workforce. I don't know if you have heard this before but your hands tell your age. Therefore, it is very important to keep them well-moisturized so that there won't be any unsightly cracks or peeling.

I apply hand cream each time after visiting the ladies and after washing my hands. Usually, I will rub hand cream on my cuticles to ensure that they don't peel. This is probably one of the reasons why I run out of hand cream very quickly. And I must emphasize that I am quick particular about the hand cream that I use. First, it must be non-greasy to touch so that it won't leave fingerprints behind on my desk phone, keyboard but then again, it must be moisturizing enough. It must smell good too. I think I can write an entire post on the best and worst of hand creams that I have tried but let's just save that for another time.

Nutree Crema Caracol Snail Mask

What is it:

As much effect as one vessel of caracol cream! The essence mask sheet provides immediate tranquilizing effect to your skins and supplies moisture and nutrients to deep inside of your skins for moisture and smoothness.

It contains snail secretion for skin tranquilizing and skin protection and does not irritate your skin. It can be used for repairing sunburn face.

Suitable for all types of skin/dry skin.

My thoughts:

Even after 20 minutes of masking, this mask is still rather moist. Nutree Crema Caracol Snail Mask feels like cellulose mask.

I noticed that my complexion became brighter after masking.

Sen by Kim Robinson Repairing Dry & Damaged Hair Shampoo and Conditioner

What is it:

New exclusive hair care formula designed by Kim Robinson specifically for Asian Hair. Moisture & Repair formula is blended with Angelica and botanical extracts to repair hair from root and protect it from environmental damage and styling.

A dual conditioning system deeply hydrates and locks in moisture. The rose-inspired scent, exclusive and elegant is composed from a blend of Turkish Rose and Chinese Magnolia.

My thoughts:

If you are following me on Instagram, you probably would have read about my review on Sen by Kim Robinson Moisture & Repair Shampoo.

It has a slight floral scent to it which smells pretty good and leaves my hair smooth and soft after that. Now, tell me what's not to like about it? The only downside would probably be that it ain't available in Singapore. Will make a mental note to stock it up next time I visit or transit at Hong Kong.

Mask House Bee-Tox Lighting Gel Eye Mask

What is it:

Bee-tox Lighting Gel Eye Mask specifically targets trapped fat and looseness surrounding the eyes due to lack of sleep. Smoothes away fine lines and wrinkles as well as reduces the look of dark circles and puffiness to revive the eye area.

Specifically cutting design for Asian ladies, covers and revives your eye area with more brightened and clarified look.

I will probably get my Mom to try this out soon since I can't use any products near my eye area.

I hope you like this post. Thanks for reading.

Love,
Patricia

Bellabox January 2013: Celebrate CNY with Bellabox

$

0

The way how Bellabox January 2013 is wrapped reminds me so much of how chicken rice and char kway teow or fried bee hoon is packed. Tell me its not just me who thinks so.
Here is the contents of Bellabox January 2013 at a glance. This particular Bellabox is pretty interesting because they focus mostly on Korean beauty brands (The Skin Shop, Skin Food, Cyber Colors and Skinmiso) as well as Japanese beauty brands (Ichikami).

I'm not sure about you, but I am more into makeup rather than skincare lately. Plus, I seldom receive makeup in my Bellabox-es. So imagine my delight when I saw Cyber Colors Gemstone Lip Surge in my Bellabox January 2013. If you must know, I can't do without base makeup and for point makeup, the very basic would be to apply blusher and lip product.

Cyber Colors Gemstone Lip Surge (Peach Blossom)

swatches of Cyber Colors Gemstone Lip Surge in Peach Blossom

Peach Blossom is a very natural nude color. I would say that its a MLBB color.

The texture of Cyber Colors Gemstone Lip Surge (Peach Blossom) reminds me of Maybelline Water Shiny Volumy Pearls Hazelnut Beige 118, its rather moisturizing. However, my only gripe is that it tends to sink into the lines on my lips. Otherwise, it would be perfect for everyday wear.

Kracie Ichikami shampoo, conditioner and hair treatment

\

While I haven't tried the hair treatment, I must say that I love the conditioner. In fact, I might consider getting the full-sized for conditioner. Shampoo-wise, it makes my hair oily by the end of the day so its a no go for me.

Skinfood Water Berry Toner, Emulsion and Serum

I haven't really tried anything from Skinfood before apart from the Aloe BB cream but my colleague, Kris told me that she really like the Watery Berry series from Skinfood. She said that its super moisturizing. I don't know about you but when someone tells me a product is awesome or their must-have, I think that the product would be worth checking out.

The Skin Shop Premium Secret Snail Vital Mucin Mask Pack

As with other snail facial masks, The Skin Shop Snail Vital Mucin Mask Pack helps to moisturize my skin, reduce redness and brighten my skin.

Skinmiso Pore Beauty Nose Pack

I had high hopes for this but it was kind of disappointing. Unlike other pore removal pack which requires to wet your nose and stick on the pack and wait for it to dry before you peel it off, Skinmiso Pore Beauty Nose Pack is a nose mask (similiar to the regular facial masks that we use), its soaking wet. You will need to place the 1 Step mask which helps to expand your pores, thereafter, remove any whiteheads or blackheads with the black cotton bud before using the 2 Step mask to contract your pores.

I think that this will work better with a blackhead remover (not included in the pack sent to me).

I hope you like this post! Thanks for reading.

Patricia

Top 3 must watch K-drama in 2013

$
0
0
Besides beauty blogging and reading, I love watching dramas (Korean ones to be exact)!

I can't remember exactly when I got into Korean dramas but I believe it was when I was about 16 or so? The first one that I got really into was - Full House starred by Rain and Song Hye Kyo.

In the past, when we want to watch any dramas, we would have to purchase the entire set of VCDs (back then DVDs didn't exist yet). Thanks to technology that we have got smartphones and some wonderful apps like Funshion, PPTV and PPS that allows us to stream or download episodes of dramas, variety shows and even movies so as to allow us to have entertainment on the go especially on public transport. I think this is very critical especially for people like me whom spend a lot of time (more than an hour) traveling to work. I usually download the shows that I want to watch the day before on my iPhone so that I can watch it without any disruptions on my way to work. Word of advice - do not attempt to watch Running Man (런닝맨) on your phone or tablet on public transport because you don't want to risk laughing out loud like nobody's business! The last time I tried watching the Christmas episode on my way to work, I ended up laughing out.

How many times have you guys watched half an episode of a drama or maybe 15 minutes down a movie, then you go like, "Shrugs, this flick/drama is a complete waste of my time! I shouldn't even have started watching it." Hence, I thought I would give a brief summary of the plot as well as share my thoughts about the 3 must watch Korean dramas this season.

Read on to find out more!

1) Cheongdamdong Alice (청담동 앨리스 / 清潭洞愛麗絲)

Starring:

Moon Geun-young - Han Se-kyung
Park Si-hoo - Cha Seung-jo / Jean Thierry Cha, president of designer brand Artemis
So Yi-hyun - Seo Yoon-joo
Kim Ji-seok - Tommy Hong, designer

Han Jin-hee - Cha Il-nam, Seung-jo's estranged father and president of Royal Department Store
Kim Seung-soo - Shin Min-hyuk, Yoon-joo's husband and president of GN Fashion
Kim Yoo-ri - Shin In-hwa, Min-hyuk's sister and Se-kyung's direct boss
Shin So-yul - Choi Ah-jung, Se-kyung's best friend
Park Kwang-hyun - Heo Dong-wook, Seung-jo's best friend and shrink
Choi Sung-joon - Secretary Moon
Jung In-gi - Han Deuk-ki, Se-kyung's father
Lee Jong-nam - Jung Yoon-hee, Se-kyung's mother
Shin Hye-jeong - Han Se-jin, Se-kyung's younger sister
Goo Won - Seo Ho-min
Park Won-sook - Mrs. Jung
Namgoong Min - So In-chan, Se-kyung's ex-boyfriend (guest appearance, ep 1-3)

Plot and my thoughts:

Han Se-kyung is the average girl next door whom works hard for everything she wants in life. Her personal motto is L‘effort est ma force (Hard work is my strength). She got hired at GN Fashion despite scoring badly at the interview. It turns out that she had to run errands for the President's wife, Seo Yoon-joo whom is her rival in school.

I actually liked how innocent and pure Han Se-kyung was at the very beginning when she believed that hard work will lead to success and that she put in her utmost effort into everything. Persevering, not giving up and all. Halfway through, she became influenced and wanted to get into Cheongdamdong and she sought Yoon-joo's help. First, she tried to get close to Tommy Hong as she referred to as her 'White Rabbit'. She got to know Jean Thierry Cha, chairman of Artemis but she mistaken him as Secretary Kim. Somehow, Han Se-kyung managed to convince Tommy Hong to help her after her scheme got exposed.

I really like how cute Han Se-kyung (Moon Geun Young) and Jean Thierry Cha (Park Si Hoo) look together.

Don't you agree that they look like they are made for each other?

Rabbit soft toy that Han Se Kyung crafted for Jean Thierry Cha

Han Se Kyung played by Moon Geun Young is very much your girl-next-door. But her huge doe-like eyes are to die for! They make her look innocent, the kind that most guys would fall for. She's rather plain, in the sense that she doesn't put on much makeup, probably just base makeup, very subtle blush, eyeliner and lip tint thats all. The whole idea behind simplicity yet looking good has to be credited to her thick and neatly drawn eyebrows and relaxed ponytail.

Her nose filler looks so obvious in this picture!

Jean Thierry Cha (Park Si Hoo) looks so cute in this picture! He wears quite a few pair of glasses in Cheongdamdong Alice and he looks good in all of them! I'm so jealous! If only I can carry off all kind of frames that easily.

I have a similar pair of prescription glasses (see below) as the one that Jean Thierry Cha (Park Si Hoo) wore in the picture above which I made over at Look Optical over in Korea.

Coincidentally, the optical shop that was featured in Cheongdamdong Alice is too, Look Optical. Did I mention why I had my glasses made over at Look Optical in Korea? Well, its because.. 2PM is their ambassador! Plus, their frames are really wallet friendly! Its say about 16,500 won for the frame. In total, I paid 69,500 won, approximately SGD$80 including prescription lenses for both short-sightedness and astigmatism.

If you need another reason as to why you should watch Cheongdamdong Alice, it has got to be - style/fashion. I have always been inspired by Korean fashion. Its girly, classy and timeless.

Some of the style icons in this drama includes -

Seo Yoon joo (So Yi hyun)

wife of GN Fashion President and ex-girlfriend of Jean Thierry Cha.

She wears a lot of lace and almost all of her dresses are very pretty! I like her short hair thats curled in at the ends. I remember wanting to sport this hairstyle ever since I saw Park Shin Hye having it in Heartstrings/You have fallen for me. The only difference would be that Park Shin Hye hairstyle had more curls in Heartstrings/You have fallen for me.

If there's something that draws me to her - it would be the way she did her lips -

the just-bitten look made popular by Goo Hye Sun when she spotted that in Boys Over Flowers.

Another style icon from Cheongdamdong Alice would be -

Shin In-hwa (Kim Yoo Ri)

Han Se Keung's direct boss and sister of GN Fashion President

Compared to Seo Yoon Joo whom looks too perfect at all times, Shin In Hwa is a career woman whom exudes confidence yet with a hint of femininity. Her makeup is more natural, less harsh and play around more with neutrals in terms of colors. She's pleasant to take a second look at and friendly enough to talk to in terms of her makeup. The dresses that she wears on the drama are to die for too!

2) School 2013 (학교 2013/)

Teachers:

Jang Nara as Jung In-jae, homeroom teacher
Choi Daniel as Kang Se-chan, former top lecturer
Uhm Hyo-sup as Uhm Dae-woong "Uhm Force", math teacher
Park Hae-mi as Im Jung-soo, principal
Lee Han-wi as Woo Soo-chul, vice principal
Oh Young-shil as Yoo Nan-hee, ethics teacher
Yoon Joo-sang as Jo Bong-soo, gym teacher
Kwon Nam-hee as Kwon Nam-hee
Kim Yun-ah as Kim Yun-ah
Lee Won-suk as Kim Dae-soo

Students:

Lee Jong-suk as Go Nam-soon
Kim Woo-bin as Park Heung-soo
Park Se-young as Song Ha-kyung
Ryu Hyoyoung as Lee Kang-joo
Kwak Jung-wook as Oh Jung-ho
Choi Chang-yub as Kim Min-ki
Kim Young-choon as Byun Ki-duk
Kim Dong-suk as Kim Dong-suk
Jun Soo-jin as Gye Na-ri
Kim Chang-hwan as Han Young-woo
Lee Ji-hoon
Lee Yi-kyung
Jung Yun-joo
Kim Dani

Plot and my thoughts:

School 2013 is the 5th in the school series made by KBS. Its a teen drama which talks about the issues that teenagers face while growing up including being bullied, violence, suicide, stress (from studies) etc.

I think its pretty similar to Glee, if you like Glee, you will probably like this drama. I'm a big fan of Glee!

The highlight of School 2013 would probably be Go Nam soon played by Lee Jong Suk.

He's always bullied in school - beaten up by Oh Jung Ho, sabotaged by his classmates and all.  But he's not someone whom tells on people. He would rather be accused and bear it all until someone come along and find out the truth rather than get people into trouble by telling the teachers what they did. Awesome guy huh? Another plus point to add on to his good looks. He just have got this cool vibes about him, no?

Go Nam Soon and Han Young Woo

Like Nam Soon, Young Woo is often picked at by the guys whom are tougher than him. Nam Soon would always watch Young Woo's back and protect him like how a brother would.

Jung In-jae (Jang Nara)

Homeroom teacher (Form teacher/home tutor)

Jung In Jae is a passionate young teacher. Despite this being her first teaching job, she is determined to make it work. When Nam Soon got into a fight with Oh Jung Ho, she didn't think twice before going in between them to make them stop, thus causing herself to get hurt.

Both In Jae and Se Chan are at loggerheads with each other.

Kang Se-chan (Choi Daniel)

Former top lecturer

Kang Se Chan was giving tuition at a private tuition center before he taught at Seung Ri High School. He also offered online tuition lessons via online/e-learning through videos. He is very popular with students which reminds me of Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO).

When In Jae was forced to leave the school, he was asked to become the homeroom teacher for Nam Soon's class. In Jae somehow managed to convince the principal to secure her job and they both ended up being the homeroom teacher for Nam Soon's class. They could not see eye to eye on quite a fair bit of issues most of the time. It ended up that students had to do two sets of homework because they couldn't decide whose worksheets to give out!

3) Flower Boy Next Door (이웃집 꽃미남 / 鄰家花美男)

Starring:

Park Shin-hye (Go Dok-mi) A modern Rapunzel, she has locked herself up in her "tower" to hide from the world.
Yoon Shi-yoon (Enrique Geum) A genius who developed a wildly successful video game at 17, he is fun-loving, talkative, bohemian and can't get enough of soccer.
Kim Ji-hoon (Oh Jin-rak) A rookie webtoon artist, he is attractive despite his difficult and stubborn personality.

Go Kyung-pyo (Oh Dong-hoon) He is Jin-rak's roommate and drawing partner who freeloads off him, and is known around the neighborhood for his chic looks and wiles.
Park Soo-jin (Cha Do-hwi) a businesswoman who runs a shopping mall. She projects an elegant, easygoing image, but her friendliness doesn't extend to Dok-mi, whom she bullied in high school.
Kim Yoon-hye (Yoon Seo-young) Enrique's best friend and first love. She is a free spirit who throws herself wholeheartedly after something she wants.
Kim Jung-san (Han Tae-joon) Enrique's older cousin. He has a complicated relationship with Seo-young, and is liked from afar by Dok-mi.
Mizuta Kouki (Watanabe Ryu) the new Japanese neighbor who came to Korea to learn the cuisine. Kim Seul-gie (Kim Seul-gi, Jin-rak and Dong-hoon's webtoon editor and the deputy manager of the Contents Development team)
Lee Jong-hyuk as fortuneteller (cameo, ep 1)

Plot and my thoughts:

Flower Boy Next Door is about Go Dok Mi, a freelance editor whom stays home most of the time, doesn't go out much, neither does she interact much with others. Her life is very routined. Every morning, she will pick up the milk carton at her door. There will always be a post stick note with a picture on it (drawn by Oh Jin Rak). Oh Jin Rak is secretly in love with Go Dok Mi.

She's in love with her neighbour, Han Tae Joon whom lives opposite her and she steal glances of his daily life with her yellow binoculars. One day, Enrique caught her doing that.

Enrique Geum and Go Dok Mi

From there, Enrique and Go Dok Mi became friends and Enrique slowly brought Go Dok Mi out of her shelf by bringing her out often and teaching her how to interact with others.

Yoon Shi-yoon (Enrique Geum) is super cute!

He keeps calling Go Dok Mi 아줌마 (ajumma) - middle aged women when she ain't that old. He does a lot of funny and weird things like claiming that Go Dok Mi left her hairclip in his car so that she would get out of her house and stuffs like that. He has got this very boyish vibe about him. I don't know but he kinda reminds me of Sam dong in Dream High.

Wow, this took me more than 7 hours to write. I thought that it would be interesting to write about my other interests apart from beauty itself. Okay, I admit that I also want to try my hand at writing about something else. I hope that you like this, let me know if you do because I'm thinking of injecting more variety into SweetestSins in 2013.

RMK Gel Scrub review

$
0
0

What is it:

The gentle exfoliating properties come from a citrus mix extract and four different types of scrubs, Crushed Aloe, Peach Seed, Chamomile Flower and soft scrub. Each has a unique texture, which when combined, gently dissolves sebum that clogs pores and eliminates the roughness of skin. Whilst exfoliating the skin, other ingredients including Kiwi Extract and Yeast Extract penetrate the skin, leaving a long-lasting fresh hydrated sensation. Refreshing scent of lemon, lime and herbal green.

Directions:

- Take a small amount in your palm and using circular movements, massage gently onto your skin.
- For a deeper penetration, apply then leave it on for 1 to 3 minutes.
- Rinse off thoroughly with cold or lukewarm water.
- Can be used 2 to 3 times a week in place of your everyday cleanser.Ingredients:Yeast Extract (Moisturizing) Citrus Mix Extract (Softening) Kiwi Extract (Moisturizing) Crushed Aloe (Moisturizing)

My thoughts:

I haven’t really paid much attention to face scrubs before as I was pretty satisfied with my good old trusty St Ives Apricot Scrub. Plus, I have been using it since forever. But one thing I don’t really like about it is that sometimes I feel that the scrub beads are a little too rough on my skin. Especially now that I’m almost in my mid twenties, I doubt my skin can take it. I googled online and some of the girls mentioned that they felt that St Ives Apricot Scrub might be a little too harsh on their skin. What’s more horrifying is that some of them said that due to the jagged edges of the scrub beads in St Ives Apricot Scrub, it actually cuts their skin! Though I’m not so sure about the latter, but ever since I read that, I try to mix St Ives Apricot Scrub and my regular cleanser in the ratio of 1:1 and I mix them up evenly on my palm with my index finger before using it on my face. Its more gentle this way, no one likes the feeling of rubbing something rough on their delicate face, no? At one point of time, I tried Korres Thyme Honey Cleansing Scrub and I liked how gentle it is on my face. The scrub bits are really tiny compared to St Ives Apricot Scrub.

This was part of a GWP when I purchased my RMK Creamy Polished Base and RMK Gel Emulsion Compact.

I have to say that I don't quite fancy scrubbing especially on my face. I know some girls swear by scrubs and they scrub about 3 times a week on average.

I hate to say this but as I grow older, I realised that my skin is more prone to being sensitive (getting red easily) as compared to when I was younger. Thus, I am rather cautious about products that I use, especially scrubs - unless they are gentle on my skin.

RMK Gel Scrub has got very tiny scrub bits which gradually dissolves as you scrub. Compared to other regular scrubs when you get more scrub bits, RMK Gel Scrub contains lesser scrub bits and more of the creamy gel foam. The texture is somewhat like if I were to mix my St Ives Apricot Scrub and my regular cleanser in the ratio of 1:1 and mix them up evenly. I like the fact that RMK Gel Scrub smells good - like kiwi! It makes my face feels super smooth after scrubbing. Plus, it hasn't given me any scratches. I'm almost hitting pan on my current RMK Gel Scrub. I think I'm so gonna repurchase this when I run out of face scrubs. I still have my Clarins one to go, not forgetting bottles of exfoliating gels from random brands.

I hope you like this post! Thanks for reading!

Patricia

Beauty sightings in Taiwan 台湾: Cosmed 康是美, Taipei Main Station 台北車站

$
0
0

Last summer, in late May, I was in Taiwan with 3 of my girlfriends, Andeline, Shin and Chuan. We were in Taipei most of the time and we travelled to Taichung too for a day trip.

I have meant to post about my Taiwan trip and of course, most importantly - beauty brands and products that I spotted in Taiwan as well as my Taiwan beauty haul for the longest time ever but somehow other commitments refrained me from doing so.

Despite it being a few months late, I still want to share this because it would give you guys some insights on what to expect in terms of beauty brands available, type of products available as well as the prices of the products in Taiwan.

This post will focus on the beauty products that I spotted in Cosmed over at Taipei Main Station. Cosmed is a drugstore in Taiwan, the equivalent of Guardian or Watsons. In fact, they have got plenty of drugstores in Taiwan, just that Cosmed and Watsons are still the more popular ones.
Kose Fasio Airy & Fresh

Airy Shield UV Screen, Multi Block Ultra UV Spray and Airy Shield UV Gel

I remember Fasio being one of my favourite brands when I was a teenager. As there weren't as much beauty brands then, I would mostly get my base products from ZA and my point makeup from Fasio. I remember getting their mascara base and mascara. If I didn't remember wrongly, they had power-stay and hyper-stay mascaras which I rotate when I repurchase. Speaking of which, I hardly see Fasio in Singapore anymore apart from occasionally stumbling upon it in BHG outlets. As I'm typing this now, I suddenly feel all nostalgia. I'm so inspired to start drafting about the beauty and makeup brands that I use in the past when I was younger. Maybe I could do a post that shares about the different products I used during different stages in my life such as 13-15, 16-18, 19-21, 21-24 year old. I reckon that would be interesting, no?

Shiseido Hada Senka Mineral Water Face UV BB Cream

Schwarzkopf Fresh Light Blythe Bubble Hair Color

Blythe doll fans will scream upon seeing this bubble hair dye! Too cute to resist.

Kanebo Media

While I haven't come across this brand - Media prior to my Taiwan trip in 2012, I would think that the makeup quality won't be too bad because Kanebo is its parent company.

I was quite tempted to get some products from the brand if not for the fact that my girlfriends pulled me away (they said that I have way too much makeup). Its really affordable, say NT$280 (SGD$11.76) for eyeshadow and NT$210 (SGD$8.80) for blusher.

白白肌

Okay, I give up on finding the English brand name for 白白肌 because its almost impossible to. I tried googling with different keywords and all but still.. no.

Anyway, if you read 女人我最大 (Nu Ren Wo Zui Da / Queen) magazine frequently enough, you will know that 白白肌 is always featured in it. 白白肌 products do not contain alcohol which is a relief for people like me - whose skin can't take alcohol.

**Shopping tip: Different Cosmed outlets offer different products

Although I mostly hauled from Watsons and Cosmed for my beauty buys when I was in Taiwan, the products that I got from Cosmed weren't purchased in a single Cosmed store alone. This is because different Cosmed outlets have got different products and what you may find in a Cosmed outlet might not be available in another Cosmed outlet. My girlfriends and I first realised this when one of them wanted to get a particular hair mask when she saw it at the Cosmed near Wufenpu (五分埔) but had second thoughts thinking that she can easily get it at the Cosmed in Ximending (西門町) near where we stay but it wasn't available there.

I hope you like this post! Thanks for reading.

Patricia

Neogence: Extremely Off-heads Serum and Mineral Micro-scrub Exfoliating Cream [Review]

$
0
0
Neogence Extreme Pore-reducing serum, Neogence Mineral Micro-scrub exfoliating cream and
Neogence Extremely off-heads serum

I have been using Neogence Extremely off-heads serum and Neogence Mineral Micro-scrub exfoliating cream for a while since I received them from Neogence Pore Solution Launch that I attended last year and I thought its time that I review them.

I remember at Neogence Pore Solution Launch event, Charlene was asking me if I have tried any products from Neogence  before. Being an avid fan of the Taiwan beauty variety show, 女人我最大 (Nu Ren Wo Zui Da / Queen), how can I miss out on seeing Neogence products being featured in there? Not to mention that  Neogence is recommended by skincare guru and expert, 牛爾 (Niu Er).

Here's the two products that I have tried from Neogence prior to the event itself.

Neogence Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Make Up Serum

If I didn't remember it wrongly, I got this after seeing it in a copy of 人我最大 (Nu Ren Wo Zui Da / Queen) magazine. I have seen a lot of Taiwan bloggers blogging about how they swear by this product.

Basically, this is to be applied after toner and before applying sunblock and makeup. It helps to moisturize your skin and preps it for makeup application so that your makeup won't look like its going to crack anytime, more so for people whom use powder makeup.

The second product that I got from Neogence is  -

Neogence Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Mask

Did I mention that I love facial masks? I used to rotate between hydrating ones and whitening ones. Now that my skin gets dry and flake at times, I tend to steer clear of whitening or brightening masks so anything moisturizing or hydrating would catch my attention.

Neogence Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Mask is not bad if not for the fact that it ain't quite wallet-friendly (SGD $2.95/pc). Click here to read my review on Neogence Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Mask.

Back to the review of the products that I received from Neogence Pore Solution Launch event. I know I tend to sidetrack a lot but I just wanted to share as much information with you all (sharing is caring, haha).

Neogence Extremely Off-heads Serum

If you must know, I have got a really oily and shiny nose that no amount of blotters would help. On top of that, I have got blackheads too and I absolutely hate the sight of them.

I'm not sure when's the last time you found a holy-grail product and if you remember how excited and happy you felt back then. As a beauty blogger, I like to discover new skincare and make up but what excites me most would be - discovering holy grail products! For a full list of products that I deem as holy grail products, check out this link.

Back to my review on Neogence Extremely Off-heads Serum, I have tried a couple of pore reducing serums from different brands before and they don't seem to quite work for me. Even if they did reduce the pore size on my nose, it wasn't something that I could wear under my make up in the day.

Although Neogence Extremely Off-heads Serum's primary purpose is to reduce blackheads and whiteheads on the T-zone and chin area, I find that it actually works in reducing the size of my pores on my nose and cheeks area near my nose where the size of my pores tend to be larger than the rest of my face. I usually rub Neogence Extremely Off-heads Serum onto my nose in circular motions after removing my blackheads with those regular pore strips and applying toner.  What I like about Neogence Extremely Off-heads Serum is that it can be used under makeup too. As recommended by professional dermatologist, Dr Hung Chin-Chun at Neogence Pore Solution Launch, I normally apply Toner > Neogence Extremely Off-heads Serum > Neogence Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Make Up Serum before sunblock, followed by makeup. I could really tell the difference when I use Neogence Extremely Off-heads Serum and when I don't. When I use Neogence Extremely Off-heads Serum, I don't have to blot my nose as often as when I don't. I'm actually quite bothered by the fact that my nose is always shiny! You know the Christmas carol goes, "Rudolph, the red nose reindeer, had a very shiny nose.." That applies to for me, "Patricia have a very shiny nose". -.- But well, at least now you know which product helps to keep the shininess or oiliness at bay!

Neogence Mineral Micro-scrub Exfoliating Cream

Neogence Mineral Micro-scrub Exfoliating Cream is from Neogence's deep cleansing series. This is not quite your usual scrub in terms of texture. It reminds me very much of kaolin clay mask or mousse with scrub bits.

The scrub bits in Neogence Mineral Mirco-scrub Exfoliating Cream are larger than most facial scrubs in the market. Thus making it not that gentle when used on the face. However, I'm pretty neutral about the fact that the scrub bits in Neogence Mineral Mirco-scrub Exfoliating Cream since it didn't leave any scratches behind on my face.

While Neogence Mineral Mirco-scrub Exfoliating Cream doesn't smell the best, I like the fact that it makes my skin smoother and softer after using it. I have also observed slight brightening effects just right after the first use!

Though I haven't tried Neogence Extreme Pore-Reducing Serum out yet, I'm pretty sure that it won't disappoint. Will keep you all updated on whether it works a not after I have tried it out.

Here are some pictures taken at Neogence Pore Solution Launch itself.

I was in town a few days ago and I thought I would drop by Kinokuniya, Ngee Ann City to check out if the Muchacha Achachumu mook that I'm eyeing is available on our shores.

While I was there, I thought I might as well check out what other mooks are offering because sometimes Japanese and Taiwanese mooks offer really good stuffs - from bags to makeup and skincare.

Elle Taiwan Magazine February 2013

Price: $14.96

Elle Taiwan February 2013 issue comes with AMPM skincare super triple HA skin hydrator - rich, 120ml. This is a full-sized product which costs about $26 in Singapore. This mook is quite a steal I must say!

About AMPM super triple HA skin hydrator

Gentle toner and has a lotion-like liquid texture which instantly penetrates the skin when applied. It forms an invisible moisture barrier on top of the skin to keep the skin moisturized for hours.

Ultra-moisturizing ingredients, Hyaluronic Acid and Beet Root Extract, strengthen the moisturizing barrier on top of the skin surface. The moisturizing formula Xpertmoist™ contains Antarctic Sea-glycoprotein which helps to increase the skin’s moisture level and to nourish and maintain the skin’s cutin. Vitamin B5, Hyaluronic Acid molecules from Aquafill™, and Ceramideprovide moisture for each skin layer by penetrating deep into the skin, absorbing quickly, and locking moisture in each layer.

It is a product that can deeply moisturize the skin while alleviating dry, tight skin and restoring the skin’s healthy glow.

AMPM Skincare range of products was formulated by Niu Er to provide skin with hydration during the day while working. I bought AMPM super triple HA serum when I was in Taiwan last year after trying it out in Watsons plus it has received many beauty rewards and had many good reviews on it. I will review it once I have tried it out.

Elle Taiwan Magazine December 2012

Price: $15.08

Elle Taiwan December 2012 comes with Naruko Lupin Anti-wrinkle Firming Night Jelly 12ml, Cream 10ml and Serum 5ml samples. Naruko is also a skincare line by Niu Er.

Burberry Lip Velvet Long Wear Lipstick in Rose Pink and Body Eau De Parfum review

Burberry Lip Velvet Long Wear Lipstick, Burberry Body Eau de Parfum and Burberry Body Milk

Burberry Lip Velvet Long Wear Lipstick in Rose Pink no. 307
Rouge Velours Haute Tenue

What is it:

A velvety matte radiance, inspired by the most opulent of English fabrics. Iconic pigments provide incredibly dense and luminous color, gel technology gives comfortable long-wear performance, while triglycerides and wild rose continuously hydrate. The result is effortlessly elegant, protective and breathable.

Tips:

Apply Lip Velvet with fingertips for a natural stain of color or use with a Lip Definer Pencil for a more polished elegance.

Below are the lip swatches of Burberry Lip Velvet Long Wear Lipstick in Rose Pink no. 307.

For daytime:

I prefer to use my fingers and dab lip velvet on my lips for a natural just-bitten look which is normally achieved with lip stains.

For night time/parties/events:

I usually use a lip brush to apply Lip Velvet to achieve precision as well as to fill up the fine lines on my lips.

What I like about this lipstick is that it has got very good color payoff. What I don't really like about Burberry Lip Velvet is that it tends to get transferred to the skin outside your upper lip area if you are someone whom tend to press your lips together very often. As I'm someone whom tends to press my lips together very often, especially when I'm thinking hard, I usually apply a layer of Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge's clear top to seal Lip Velvet on my lips.

Burberry Body Eau De Parfum

Top notes:
wormwood, peach and freesia

Middle notes:
iris, sandalwood and rose

Base notes:
cashmere wood, vanilla, amber and musk

Burberry Body Eau de Parfum is the latest addition to my current collection of Burberry perfumes consisting of Burberry Brit Sheer and Burberry Touch for women (see below).

My thoughts:

Having being quite a loyal supporter of Burberry fragrances - you could tell from my Burberry fragrance collection consisting of Burberry Brit Sheer and Burberry Touch for women, I think it is only right that I compare Burberry Body Eau De Parfum to the other two fragrances released earlier from the company. Burberry Body Eau De Parfum is somewhat in the middle of Burberry Brit Sheer and Burberry Touch for women. Allow me to make myself clearer, you see - Burberry Brit Sheer is more to the young, sweet and girly side while Burberry Touch for women in my opinion is more apt for working women. Burberry Body Eau De Parfum has a very unique scent to it, its not too overbearing to be used in the day, neither is it too plain for the night especially when you want to head to that business meeting after work.

You'll be sure that its in my make up pouch and probably my next favourite perfume for work anytime soon!

Here are some pictures taken at Burberry Beauty Vintage Gold Bloggers' Party with Larry Yeo itself. We were treated to a makeup demonstration by Larry Yeo.

After makeover

Here are some pictures that I took of the Burberry counter in Tangs Orchard. Enjoy your mini virtual tour around the counter!

And lastly, a picture of Larry Yeo and me! He's really friendly, no airs or anything and even offered me makeup tips and recommended me products to try out.

Global Beauty Shopping: Bangkok Beauty Shopping Guide

Hello lovelies, we are already into March. Time really flies, no? Have you already made plans for your next holiday trip? Most people around me have started planning for their next vacation and so have I. In fact, I just booked air tickets for my mid-year trip!

A very popular destination among young people, friends, couples or even families for a weekend getaway is definitely - Bangkok. Afterall, Bangkok is a shopping heaven, especially for some cheap shoes and clothes!

Apart from the usual beauty finds you can get from drugstores, Watsons and Boots, today I'm gonna share with you where to shop for cosmetics and skincare in Bangkok as well as introduce you guys to some of the local Thailand beauty brands.

Mahboonkrong (MBK) Center มาบุญครอง
444 Phaya Thai Road
Pathumwan
Bangkok 10500
Nearest Public Transport:
Skytrain: National Stadium
Subway: Sam Yan

One shopping center that most of you probably won't miss including in your Bangkok trip itinerary would be Mahboonkrong (MBK) Center มาบุญครอง. Mahboonkrong (MBK) Center มาบุญครอง has got 8 storeys (gasps), level 1-3 are clothing, shoes and beauty stores. They also have got a 4 storey Japanese departmental store, Tokyu.

I first came to know about Oriental Princess through thailand beauty blogger, tuniez83's YouTube videos.
Oriental Princess

Check out my haul from Oriental Princess.
CutePress

http://www.cutepress.com/index.php
CutePress to me feels more like a clinical brand. The store was very brightly lit. I did check out their products vaguely and they have got a lot of whitening products for both makeup and skincare.

Beauty Buffet

Photobucket
http://www.beautybuffetshop.com/pro/html/web/about_new.html
Beauty Buffets is one shop that most beauty bloggers won't miss during their Bangkok trip. They carry brands like Gino McCray, Scentio, Lansley, The Bakery as well as Anne & Florio. Popular items that most girls pick up from Beauty Buffet include Gino McCray eyeshadows and Anne & Florio's polishes.
My haul from Beauty Buffet -
Anne & Florio

Anne & Florio Glorious Nail Enamel in 71 and B16

Yves Rocher France

Yves Rocher carries mostly body care products. The store layout and brand colors reminds me so much of The Body Shop.
Karmart

The bulk of the products sold in Karmart is this Korean brand, Cathy Doll. Apart from Cathy Doll, Karmart carries Korean beauty brands like Missha and Yadah. I also spotted the Gold Cacao Pack in Karmart.
My haul from drugstores, Watsons and Boots.
Boots

http://www.th.boots.com/thai/index.php
You can get No7 makeup and skincare products at Boots. No7 is UK's best selling makeup and skin care range offering hypo-allergenic products.
The two products that I got from Boots are -
Pond's Magic Powder Oil & Blemish Control

I saw a lot of Thai girls using this to touch up in the ladies. They would pour some out on their palm and then slap it on their face. Out of curiosity, I asked one of them whom is a student and she said that this is very good for oil control as well as brightening the complexion. So before I knew it, I got myself a bottle at the nearest Boots available.
Soap & Glory The Scrub of Your Life

When I got this, Soap & Glory wasn't available in Singapore yet. But I was captivated by its packaging. And since I needed a body scrub, I thought I would try this out and it turns out to be one of my favourite body scrub!
I finished the tube that I got from Bangkok but thank God that Soap & Glory is available in Sephora now.
Barrier Repair Baby Moist Facial Wash

I got Barrier Repair Baby Moist Facial Wash for my cousin. Although Barrier Repair is available in Watsons in Singapore, I don't see them having facial wash. Since I have tried Barrier Repair Facial Mask before and its not too bad, I thought that Barrier Repair Baby Moist Facial Wash would be worth a try.
Aside from shopping, I love to discover good food be it in my home country or overseas.

Olay Regenerist Advanced Anti-aging Micro-sculpting cream moisturizer

$

0

What is it:

Powered with the new Skin Energizing Technology, which consists of:

- A potent blend of three anti-aging ingredients consisting of newOlivem, Niacinamide, Pal-KTTKS
- Increased levels of existing anti-aging ingredients by up to 200%
- Formula Optimization to increase penetration of anti-agingingredients into skin’s surface layers by up to 55%, getting ingredients where they need to be for accelerated anti-aging results

Product claims:

- Renew skin's youthful look
- Reduce fine lines and wrinkle appearance with moisturization
- Exfoliate and smooth skin

Olay Regenerist Brand Ambassador, Jeanette Aw's thoughts on the New Generation Olay Regenerist:

“Having tried the new Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream, my skin is brighter, firmer and feels more hydrated - with just one jar. Because of the nature of my job, I’m constantly in front of the camera. I need to take extra care of how I look, especially my skin. New Generation Olay Regenerist gives me younger, energized looking skin. Olay has definitely challenged what’s possible for my skin.”

My thoughts:

A lot of people have referred Olay Regenerist Advanced Anti-aging Micro-sculpting cream moisturizer as the poor man's Creme de La Mer. Both my Mom and I have been using Olay Regenerist Advanced Anti-aging Micro-sculpting cream moisturizer for almost a week now.

Let me begin by sharing with you my skin type as well as my Mom's skin type. I have got combination skin and I experience dryness and at times, the skin at the side of my forehead flakes. My T-zone is rather oily and I have to blot a few times a day. On the other hand, my Mom has got matured skin. She doesn't quite have what I would call dry skin, probably just lack of firmness and some fine lines. Every time I have got an anti-aging product to try out, I will ask Mommy to try it out too so that I can better gauge the results of the product.

Olay Regenerist Advanced Anti-aging Micro-sculpting cream moisturizer smells quite pleasant, not too strong or anything. It has got a creamy texture and surprisingly enough, it doesn't feel too greasy on the skin when applied. In the morning, I just apply it like how I would apply every other moisturizer. At night, I use massaging techniques after applying Olay Regenerist Advanced Anti-aging Micro-sculpting cream moisturizer and I think that helps my skin absorb the moisturizer better! After applying Olay Regenerist Advanced Anti-aging Micro-sculpting cream moisturizer on my face, my skin looks smoother and also slightly more radiant! I skipped base makeup totally yesterday at work and no one could tell. My colleague even thought that I had makeup on but its just Olay Regenerist Advanced Anti-aging Micro-sculpting cream moisturizer and sunblock! I use it on my neck too! I read that some girls broke out after using Olay Regenerist Advanced Anti-aging Micro-sculpting cream moisturizer but so far it hasn't given me any problems yet.

While I haven't spotted what Olay Regenerist Advanced Anti-aging Micro-sculpting cream moisturizer did for me in terms of anti-aging properties, I asked my Mom if she noticed anything that Olay Regenerist Advanced Anti-aging Micro-sculpting cream moisturizer did for her and here's her thoughts:

- keeps face well-moisturized
- reduce the appearance of wrinkles/lines

I hope you like this post! Thanks for reading!

Beauty asia 2013

Hi lovelies, you probably would have seen the sneak preview of Beauty Asia Singapore 2013 on SweetestSins Facebook page as well as on my Instagram. If you haven't, read on to find out about the latest offering in the beauty industry!

I made a trip down to Marina Bay Sands, Sands Expo and Convection Center for Beauty Asia 2013 on the 25th (also the first day of the trade show) over lunch. I am glad that its at Marina Bay Sands instead of Suntec City because its so much more convenient. I don't have to walk that far from the MRT station.

I met Jerlaine there, she popped by during lunch time too. Kas was almost done when we saw her with her massive haul of nail polishes.

This year, Long brought us around Beauty Asia 2013 to show us the highlights of the trade show. The first stop was - Hakuhodo!

Hakuhodo

For those of you whom are unfamiliar with Hakuhodo brushes, they are all handmade in Japan.

About Hakuhodo

Hakuhodo Co., Ltd., established in 1974, is located in Kumano, about 20 km east of Hiroshima. Kumano is renowned for havingmanufactured Japanese calligraphy brushesfor about 200 years. There are more than 100brush companies in Kumano, producing 80% of the brushes made in Japan.

I was so excited to see Hakuhodo brushes in real life after hearing so much about them, especially when beauty bloggers all over the world are raving about them. Plus, I can touch and feel them literally, not just looking at them online.

They all feel so soft! It was a pity that Hakuhodo wasn't selling their brushes at Beauty Asia 2013. If they were, you bet I would have ended up with a huge massive haul of their brushes! Not to worry, because if you are interested in Hakuhodo brushes, you can always order them online from http://www.hakuhodousa.com/. Don't say I didn't warn you, browse the site at your own risk because it will trigger some wants! For now, S163 Eye Brow Brush and angled is on my wishlist because I love drawing my eyebrows and I have found a way to make them look more subtle and natural, albeit drawn Korean style aka thick eyebrows.

Next was -

Nfu Oh nail polishes

Jerlaine was saying that she got to know about Nfu Oh when she was studying in the UK. She said that its rather popular there.

Odyssey Nail Polish

I have no idea where Odyssey nail polish is from. Tried googling but didn't managed to find any information. Judging from the packaging, it looks like its from Korea though.

Check out the awesome nail art below! Wish I could draw nail art like that!

Sunlighten

Sunlighten mPulse is perfect for the time-pressed, fret not if you have got no time to head down to a sauna. Now you can have it in the comfort of your own home!

I think I would like to have one at home if space permits! But then again, having watched season 3, episode 20th, Hot Water of Pretty Little Liars, anything to do with steam kind of terrifies me now. You will get what I mean if you watch the clip below.

Thank God Aria showed up if not Spencer would have been dead by now. Speaking of which, I really like Pretty Little Liars. Its one of my favourite television shows apart from New Girl and Glee.

Novalash - eyelash extensions

There was a free trial for media but I decided to give it a miss since I tried eyelash extensions before and I didn't had enough time. If you are interested in eyelash extensions, I suggest you check out my eyelash extensions posts, here and here so that you will know what to expect.

Niks Cover Cream

Niks cover cream is a paramedical camouflage cream that is suitable for all skin types and can be used after IPL, laser and microdermabrasion. It can be used to cover or normalise tattoos, scars, pigmentation, vitiligo, moles, acne marks, age spots, varicose veins, rosacea, birthmarks and dark eye circles. Now, this sounds even more amazing than Dermablend.

Denman hair brushes

Denman is endorsed by Vidal Sassoon. Detangles frizzy hair while giving your scalp a massage.

The interesting part about Denman is that it carries scented hair brushes! Imagine combing through your hair and have it smelling like strawberry shortcake, lemon sherbet and wild dewberry.

All belle false eyelashes 愛比堤睫毛

I tried on All belle Red Wedding series false eyelashes as recommended by the lady at the booth and man, I was sold! She said that this is one of the more popular design in Taiwan and when worn, its looks rather impactful or 有效果. It looks quite natural on me still.

All belle Red Wedding false eyelashes when worn

As I didn't managed to comb through the entire Beauty Asia exhibition on the first day over lunch, I headed there again on the second day after work.

I didn't spend as much compared to the previous years, 2011 and 2012. Here's my humble haul from Beauty Asia 2013!

Magicboo hair treatment ($7 each), Greensong Perfect ($8), All belle eyelash fix ($18.90), Misa Beautiful ($5), Orly Coffee Break ($6), Zoya Aree ($7) and nail art brush ($2)

That makes it a total damage of $53.90. I think its still justifiable, after all its a total of 8 products!

Although its Spring now, I am still rather into nudes and browns especially after seeing Seo Yeon Joo nails in Cheongdamdong Alice. I bought Orly Coffee Break because I really like the light brown nails that Seo Yeon Joo spotted in Cheongdamdong Alice. Her nails are always very pretty. You will get what I mean if you see the pictures below.

Couldn't wait to try out the nail polishes that I got from Beauty Asia 2013 so here's the first that I picked to try.

 Nuxe Rose Melting Cleansing Gel

What is it:

Melts into your skin for a deep down clean without the harshness of soap cleansers. Skin is softened and soothed as it is cleansed. Suitable for combination sensitive skin.

My thoughts:

The first time I came into contact with the brand, Nuxe was when I received three products, Nuxe Face and Body Ultra-Rich Cleansing Gel, Nuxe Body 24hr Moisturizing Body Lotion and Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-usage dry oil in my October 2012 Bellabox.

I remember deciding between Nuxe Eau Demaquillante Micellaire Micellar Cleansing Water with rose petals and Avene Lotion Micellaire Micellar Lotion Cleanser and Make-up Remover over at Watsons the last time I ran out of cleansing water. I eventually bought the latter but I am deciding between Nuxe Eau Demaquillante Micellaire Micellar Cleansing Water and ROC Extra Comfort Cleansing Water.

Whoops, I sidetracked again. My bad, I know but somehow I always get too excited when it comes to sharing. If you haven't already know, I love cleansing water. Before I discovered cleansing water, my favourite was cleansing gel and cleansing milk way before that.

Nuxe Rose Melting Cleansing Gel is rather gentle when used on the skin, doesn't feel my skin feeling tight or anything after cleansing. It smells not too bad too. Although it says that its able to remove makeup, I usually still remove my base makeup with Avene Lotion Micellaire Micellar Lotion Cleanser and Make-up Remover as well as Biore Eye and Lip Make Up Remover before cleansing with Nuxe Rose Melting Cleansing Gel.

Guess what? I actually finished this sample! Its quite a bit of an achievement because I seldom finish samples unless I like them enough.

Mememe Eye Line Pencil

What is it:

Glides on perfectly with precision and definition. Extra smooth formulation allows for smooth application without tugging the delicate eye area.

My thoughts:

This has got to be the worst eyeliner I have ever tried. It smudges like crazy. I first tried it on last Thursday with high hopes since everyone was saying how creamy it has and how it glides on so well. But to my dismay, it smudged all over on both my lids and undereye area. I had so much trouble cleaning it off because I didn't have any eye makeup remover in office. Hence, I ended up having to tug at my skin while using wet tissues or just tissue and water to try and clean it off. It made my under eye look dark and dirty which I hate. Imagine how upset and furious I was because I had an event to attend after work. I was so conscious of it that I had to keep tissues on hand and wipe my under eye area every now and then.

If I am ever gonna write a post on the worst products that I have ever used, I'm sure that Mememe Eye Line Pencil would be the first product that goes into the list. When I saw Irene on Thursday, she too agreed that Mememe Eye Line Pencil smudges like no tomorrow.

Sasatinnie Hand Gloves – Pomegranate

What is it:

Rich in antioxidants, the Pomegranate Hand Gloves contains Pomegranate, Ginseng and Green Tea extracts to moisturize and firm the skin on your hands. Apply to clean hands until fully absorbed and skin instantly feels moisturized and supple.

My thoughts:

I kept putting off to try out this hand gloves from Sasatinnie because I thought that it would be rather cumbersome having to deal with not being able to maneuver around. But guess what? It has got double layers, the inner one that has got the essence soaked in and a plastic outer layer that doesn't make your hands feel dripping wet. I still can blog while having the gloves on (how cool right?), typing is no problem but it gets a little effort to maneuver my Macbook Pro's mousepad. I tucked in the excess as shown in the last picture above so that I can type with more ease.

After masking, my hands looked brighter and felt softer and smoother. I think its worth pampering your hands every now and then with hand gloves.

Rating:

★★★★☆

 Lanvin Marry me!

What is it:

Created with the intention to suggest the strong bond that women have with their perfume. With fruity top notes of Bitter Orange, Freesia and Peach, Lanvin Marry me is a playful marriage of feminine and flirty.

My thoughts:

I think that fragrances in general is very subjective. In fact, I think the saying, "One man's meat is another man's poison' can be applied here.

I'm pretty sure most of you are familiar with Lanvin's Marry Me, I mean who won't especially when there are so many printed ads in magazines or around town. I know girls whom swear by this perfume but sad to say, its not my kind of perfume. I dare say I prefer its counterpart, Lanvin Eclat D'Arpege anytime over Lanvin Marry Me.

Rating:

★★☆☆☆

Adonis Dematox Anti-Toxin

What is it:

Adonis Dermatox Anti-Toxin is a purification solution to clear congested pores and remove toxins from within the skin. When applied, there would be a pungent smell due to the reaction between the product and the toxins in the skin which will reduce with frequent use. Suitable for all skin types.

I have yet to come about trying this but I will update you guys when I have.

In conclusion, the best and worst product in Bellabox February 2013 are -

Best product in Bellabox February 2013:

Its a tie between Nuxe Rose Melting Cleansing Gel and Sasatinnie Hand Gloves Pomegranate

Worst product in Bellabox February 2013:

ECFA Hotel Wan Nian 愛客發時尚旅館萬年館 review

萬年館
西寧南路70號6樓, 西門町, 台北, 台灣(萬年商業大樓)

WanNian
6F., No. 70, Xining South Road, Ximending, Taipei, Taiwan (WanNian Business Building)

Website: http://www.ecfahotel-taipei.com/

Telephone: +886223619069
As most of you know (either through Instagram updates or blog posts), I went to Taiwan (Taipei and Taichung) to be specific with my girlfriends, Andeline, Shin and Chuan last May. It was a shame that Steph couldn't join us because she had SIP.

The Taiwan trip was a very random one to begin with. It started when someone mentioned that there was cheap air tickets during a Jetstar sale and before we knew it, we booked our tickets from Singapore Changi Airport to Taoyuan International Airport.

You might ask what sparked me to write this post when almost a year have passed. Well, the holiday season is approaching and I have got many friends and colleagues asking about which hotel is good in Taipei, Hong Kong, Macau, Bangkok, Korea etc and I thought it would be so much easier to document it down for future purposes and that it would be much clearer rather than for me to tell them verbally. I don't know about you but I'm very much of a 'blue-printing process' person.

As Shin and I have both graduated and are already in the workforce, Chuan and Andeline very kindly offered to help with the sourcing of the hotel and the itinerary respectively. We did help too, but it was very minimal. I just prepared a list of the places that I wanted to go.

I had no idea how Chuan did her comparison but somehow she managed to streamline the choices down to this hotel, ECFA Hotel Wan Nian. All I remember was that she was whatsapp-ing us telling us about ECFA Hotel Wan Nian, about how awesome it is because its literally across from Ximending 西門町. So much for being efficient, we booked our hotel room via Agoda.com on the same day itself.

We booked the family room for 6 nights and it was USD 529.08 (SGD 660.50) in total. There was a hot deal which entitles us to 10% discount.

Here's a breakdown of the prices for your convenience.

Family room per 6 nights (4 pax): $660.50
Family room per 6 nights (per pax): $165.13

Family room per night (4 pax): $110.08
Family room per night (per pax): $27.52

Can you imagine each of us only paid $165.13 for 6 nights of stay in ECFA Hotel Wan Nian and $27.52 per night? That's really a good deal I would say, given the fact that we had en-suite toilets.

Moving on, the list of facilities below is mentioned on ECFA Hotel Wan Nian's website.

In-room facilities

Free high-speed broadband network
Independent air-conditioning system
Coffee / tea making facilities
Hairdryer
Fine toiletries
32/42 inch LCD TV
Cable TV channels
Refrigerator

We reached our hotel at about 8am in the morning. We actually walked pass the building once without realizing that its Wan Nian Commercial Building. We only realized it was the building that our hotel is in from the next street after we crossed the road. I have used Google maps prior to my Taiwan trip for a virtual street view screen shot of Wan Nian Commercial Building as well as its surroundings, of which I identified landmarks such as the convenience store, FamilyMart opposite as well as a particular hair salon. Now Google maps even allows you to take virtual tours of any countries! I don't like the idea of walking the extra mile when it comes to locating places while traveling. So if you want to save yourself some time in locating destinations that you are unfamiliar with, remember to check it on Google maps before you go!

A lot of people referred Wan Nian Commercial Building to somewhat like CTMA Centre in Hong Kong. It reminds us of Far East Plaza in our home country, Singapore though. There's almost everything in the building itself - from Taiwan snacks in B1, perfume on L1, watches on L2, clothes, shoes and second-hand items on L3, toys and figurines on L4, arcade on L5, pool hall and LAN shop on L7 etc.

The earliest check-in for ECFA Hotel Wan Nian is 3pm hence we left our luggage at the reception, grabbed our face cleansers, toothbrush and toothpaste for a quick wash up before we started our day in Taipei.

After breakfast and some shopping, we headed back to our hotel to check in and to rest before heading out at night.

ECFA Hotel Wan Nian is situated at the 6th floor of Wan Nian Commercial Building. The first thing that you would see upon stepping out of the lift is the 'lobby' aka the reception of ECFA Hotel Wan Nian.

ECFA Hotel Wan Nian reception
Service

The staff are really courteous. They never fail to stand up and bow to greet us each time we leave the hotel or arrive back at the hotel. If you wish to order breakfast, just let them know and they can help you with the ordering. We wanted to make reservations for lunch at Hello Kitty Cafe during one of the days while we were there and we asked if they could help us with it and they gladly did it very promptly!

ECFA Hotel Wan Nian do provide a map (customized by themselves) for their guests that shows the popular landmarks and eateries. Its a simplified version compared to Google maps.

Let's begin the virtual tour of our family room in ECFA Hotel Wan Nian!

Our double beds! Love the checkered board design!
Flat screen LCD TV
We thought that it would have been better if there were more hangers provided as there is only 2-3 provided and the fixture for us to hang our stuffs (maximum one pair of jeans) and that's about it.

Kettle, safebox and fridge
There is complimentary tea bags and paper cups provided as well as 2 bottles of mineral water replenished on a daily basis. There's also a coffee machine on the left side of the reception that guests can use as well as a water point with both cold and hot water (which we didn't know until probably the 3rd day as our room is on the right).

The safebox is a plus-point because we keep our passports and money (so that we won't have to bring so much money with us everyday) in there so that we won't have to worry. Chuan even kept her Blackberry in there!

Andeline boiled water for us on a daily basis while we were there so that we won't have to keep drinking bottled water and that we get to save a little as we won't have to keep purchasing water.

We love the fact that there's a fridge because we just threw in whatever we bought - milk tea, milk, Taiwan beer and even half-eaten pack of chips. Hahaha.

Now onto the en-suite toilet. Its at the far end of the room, separated by frosted glass. It doesn't offer maximum privacy but we are all girls so I guess that's okay.

ECFA Hotel Wan Nian toilet
Shampoo, shower gel and hair dryer
If you want to travel light, you can skip the shampoo and shower gel as ECFA Hotel Wan Nian do provide them. Do remember your toothbrush and toothpaste though.

The fact that the hair dryer is fixed in the toilet permanently isn't that convenient especially when there's like 4 of us and we take turns to shower. Imagine everyone will dry their hair after showering, and how long will the last girl have to wait? Geez right?

Face/hand towels and body towels
The towels in ECFA Hotel Wan Nian are pretty clean, its off-white. Although most of us did bring along our own towels, we used the ones that they provided anyway.

Showering area/bathtub
The showering area is such that it is also a bathtub that looks like a hot spring. We don't use it as a bathtub though.

Environment

As ECFA Hotel Wan Nian is situated on the 6th floor of Wan Nian Commercial Building, with level 7 being a LAN shop and pool hall, there's no doubt that on some nights we hear the pool balls knocking.

The rooms are not soundproof either. We can hear people talking at the corridor.

Safety

There are actually a few entrances/exits to Wan Nian Commercial Building but at night, they lock all up except for one that is guarded by a security guard thus we feel very safe even though it was just the four of us alone.

Rating:

★★★★☆

Cleanliness

ECFA Hotel Wan Nian cleans the room on a daily basis. All of us brought our own cleanser, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel along and we had so many bottles in the bathroom. It is always packed neatly for us.

We took Jetstar's midnight flight so we touched down at Taoyuan International Airport at about 6am in the morning.

Shin and I wanted to get Taiwan SIM cards from 台湾大哥大 but I guess it was too early so the booth wasn't opened yet.

Taoyuan International Airport have got staff decked in vests to help answer tourists queries. We knew that we could take Freego bus (飛狗巴士) from Taoyuan International Airport to Taipei but had no idea where we should take the bus so I asked one of the 伯伯 (pronounced as bei bei in Taiwanese instead of bo bo in Chinese) decked in the vest.

You can get Freego bus tickets from the bus counters. The bus pickup point for Taoyuan International Airport Terminal 1 is at B1 Arrivals.

We bought return tickets from Taoyuan International Airport to Ximending.

As we were too early, there wasn't any smaller bus to take us to Ximending so we dropped at Zhongxiao Fuxing Station and took the Taipei Metro (MRT) to Ximen station which is 4 stations away.

We bought our Easycard (悠游卡) for NTD 500 including deposit.

If you pay using Easycard (悠游卡) at participating retailers, you get certain discounts. I remember buying sushi at one of the stations and we got some discount because we paid using Easycard (悠游卡). You can use Easycard (悠游卡) on the Taipei Metro, bus services in Taipei, Taiwan Railway, Taiwan High Speed Rail and Maokong Gondola. For a full list of how and where you can use Easycard (悠游卡), do check out Easycard's website,  http://www.easycard.com.tw/english/use/index.asp.

We left our luggage in the hotel before leaving for breakfast. You know the saying goes, "When in Rome, do what the Romans do." Likewise, when in Taiwan, do what the Taiwanese do. With that, I meant trying traditional Taiwanese breakfast!

After much deliberation, all of us decided to try the egg crepe (蛋饼) because we saw that its a common choice with the locals apart from 状元团 (rice roll that is similar to that of Japanese sushi). The staff there recommended that we try their egg crepe (蛋饼) too!

After breakfast, it was also the start of my nightmare. My appendix started to hurt badly that I had to stop every now and then while walking. I think it could probably be due to the fact that I wasn't used to having oily food in the morning as well as cold drink.

We decided to take a break in Dante Coffee (丹堤咖啡). I guess we were all tired from the flight.

Our buys from Carrefour (家樂福)
We bought the must-try beef instant noodles (its only NTD30!). Its really tasty though spicy and it has got real beef pieces in it! No wonder its a must-try when one is in Taiwan!

We also got 2 bottles of mineral water that are 5 litres each which we took turns to lug it back to the hotel.

It was rather funny actually because upon reaching the hotel, we realised that there's water dispenser with both hot and cold water at the left side of the reception. -.- Our room was on the right and it didn't occur to us that they would have a water dispenser and a coffee machine. We thought that it would be more convenient to get mineral water rather than boil water from the kettle because by the time we reach the hotel, we should be worn out by then. Plus, the 2 bottles of 500ml water that the hotel provide on a daily basis won't be enough for us all.

After resting for a while, we headed to Ximending for dinner at Ay-Chung Flour-Rice Noodle (阿宗麵線).

Instead of the usual oyster mee sua that you find in Singapore, Ay-Chung Flour-Rice Noodle (阿宗麵線) use large intestines instead of oysters.

Although my last trip to Taiwan prior to this was back in the 2004 when I just finished my O levels, I was surprised that I could still remember the exact locations of the more famous eateries and fast food chains. Is it fantastic memory or the fact that I have been reading too many travel blogs and watching Taiwan dramas? I think its the latter though.

After dinner, we took the train to Taipower building station.

Saw this poster which I thought was really thoughtful.

Beauty sightings at Hong Kong International Airport, Mannings

beauty sightings at mannings hong kong international aiport

Hi lovelies, I don't know about you but I absolutely love checking out every drugstore/convenience store possible during my trips abroad.

Imagine my delight when I saw that Mannings (the equivalent of Guardian in Singapore) over at Hong Kong International Airport wasn't closed for the day yet when I arrived in Hong Kong at about 1020pm. Being a beauty enthusiast and avid beauty blogger, I went to check out if they have got any new or interesting beauty brands or products.

You know they say sharing is caring and I never forget about you, my lovely readers so let me take you on a virtual tour in Mannings store, Hong Kong International Airport.

The first product that caught my eye was - Kao Megurhythm Steam Hot Eye Mask. I have seen these lovelies on a Japanese beauty website before and I was like, "Why don't they have it in Singapore?" Without putting much thoughts into it, I grabbed two boxes.

Next, I spotted Olay. They have got the Olay Pro X product line there in Hong Kong!

Olay Pro X and Total Effects 7-in-1 Anti-Ageing Skin Care
Did I mentioned that my Mom's like the biggest fan of Olay? She said she has been using Olay since her early twenties!

Next, I spotted My Beauty Diary 2 step mask as well as Barrier Repair mask. I also spotted some Korean masks below. If you look below, you will see Mask House Celebrity masks which was included in my Glamabox January 2013.

beauty sightings at hong kong international airport mannings 6

I didn't get any of them because I got 2 boxes of My Beauty Diary 2 step mask during my Taiwan trip last year. They are really awesome! Will review them soon. I quite like Barrier Repair mask, you can read my review on them here, http://sweetestsins.blogspot.sg/2011/05/mandom-barrier-repair-facial-mask.html.

I saw masks and more masks! Hong Kong's like a mask heaven! You will see what I mean if you check out the photos below. They have got 3D lifting mask, eye masks and even limited edition masks from My Beauty Diary. I always like to compare My Beauty Diary masks to Korea's The Face Shop. Apparently, they are both quite popular and most ladies would have tried them before if not the very least, heard of them before.

I also saw Dr Morita face masks there. I always see Dr Morita's products in Taiwan magazines.

Just a bit of background information for you on Dr Morita. Dr Morita's masks are manufactured in Taiwan but the technology is provided by JAPAN (TOKYO)-based company and its manufacturing process is supervised under the company in Japan.

I almost wanted to get the Cow Mu Tenka foaming wash to try but the thought that I still have got plenty of facial wash at home stopped me from doing so.

Other interesting products that I spotted.

O'slee Aqua Medi Refreshing Hydro-Cream, ZINO Bubble Mask, ZINO Eyelash Enhancing Serum etc

I also spotted this brand, skinBIOTICS Swiss which reminded me of Skinbiotics Anti-Aging Nutricosmetics.

Although I am going to be in my mid-twenties very soon (or a quarter century old as I like to call it), I am still very much of a kid at heart. Cutesy stuffs still very much appeal to me.

Check out the very kawaii (cute in Japanese) pouches below. They either contain gummies, sweets or chocolates. I was so tempted to get the Snoopy airmail and Little Twin Stars ones.

I think I picked up these lovelies in less than 10 minutes?!

I bought quite a few Mannings Lip Hop Hello Kitty and My Melody hand cream as gifts for family and friends. I also picked up Kao Megurhythm Steam Hot Eye Mask and Dr Morita Moisture Essence Facial Mask.

After that, we were making our way to our designated gate to catch our connecting flight to Korea when I spotted this very cute signage.

P.S: I haven't really been updating SweetestSins because I was really busy with preparations for my company's DND held yesterday. But make sure you stay tuned because there will be exciting posts coming your way!

Escada Cherry in the air Eau de Toilette review

escada cherry in the air 1

Top notes:

Black cherry, juicy raspberry, mandarin

Heart notes:

Gardenia, coconut orchid, vanilla, marshmallow

Base notes:

Sandalwood, oak, musks and accord

My thoughts:

When I first received Escada Cherry in the air, I was like, "Wow". I have never been so impressed by the packaging of any other perfumes prior to this. The illustration is so pretty, girly and cheerful which makes me feel carefree.

The bottle itself is more sleek and less impressive compared to the cardboard packaging but the cherry bow ring made up for it.

escada cherry in the air ring
Escada Cherry in the air cherry bow ring

Escada Cherry in the air is my first Escada fragrance but its definitely not gonna be the last for sure.

The scent can be a bit strong in the beginning and it takes a while getting used to it. I would say that its Escada Cherry in the air is one perfume that I grew to love more and more overtime. Its quite sweet but it doesn't smell too young. I think that someone in her twenties will like this fragrance.

Escada Cherry in the air will make a perfect day scent or for that weekend date. In fact, I think its something that guys will like. So far, I have got my uncle as well as a few other guys including colleagues and friends asking me what perfume am I wearing whenever I have got Escada Cherry in the air on and they said it smells very pleasant!

The only grip I have is that it doesn't stay on very long and I probably have to get another few spritzs every 4-5 hours or so.

Price list:

Eau de Toilette 100ml SGD 117
Eau de Toilette 50ml SGD 93

bangkok trip blog travel log travel blog travelogue

Hi lovelies, I know this is a super overdue post. You might be wondering why I am writing this post especially when this trip has been quite a while. I guess its the holiday season now where everyone is jetting off or planning for their next upcoming holiday because I have got requests from readers as well as friends and colleagues asking me about my Bangkok trip and I thought I would pen it down. After all, pictures and other information such as address put together are easier to comprehend.

On the second day in Bangkok, we left Abloom Apartments rather early, about 8 plus right after we had our breakfast in Abloom cafe within the premises of Abloom Apartments itself. I will try and find pictures of our room and do a review on Abloom Apartments soon. Its really a nice place to stay at especially for families if you are heading to Bangkok.

The driver suggested that we visit Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, 100km southwest of Bangkok. I will suggest getting there early to avoid traffic jams and crowds as it is one of the more popular tourist attractions in Bangkok.

I think we paid about SGD $45 or $47 each for the boat ride which is about 1 hour. Its not exactly cheap but I think its quite worthwhile if its your first trip to Bangkok and if you would want to experience the local culture and charming sights.

Having said that, allow me to take your on a virtual tour of the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market.

There are families living at the bank of the river, commonly known as  水上人家 in Chinese.

Most Thais are Buddhists so its a common sight to see them offering prayers to four-faced Buddha either at home, at temples or even on the streets.

I don't know why but the mangoes in Bangkok, Thailand is really good. Its sweeter and nicer compared to the ones back home.

At the other side of the river, there are merchandise such as apparel (singlets, T-shirts and dresses), hats, souvenirs and paintings for sale.

I really like Fuji Japanese Restaurant. The food is really good and the price is very reasonable. I think we only paid about $15 to $17 each? Love the tofu salad especially!

After dinner, I saw Krispy Kreme and got half a dozen upon seeing that the queue wasn't that long. There was only maybe 7-8 people in front of me.

I have been wanting to write this article for a while now. Now that I finally am, allow me to share a bit of history on my hair with you girlies.

The first time that I had chemical treatment done to my hair was when I was in Secondary 3. I rebonded my hair for the first time. I have slight wavy hair then and straight, sleek hair was the 'in' thing then. When I was in Secondary 4, I rebonded my hair for the 2nd time, this time at Jean Yip and during the same year after graduation, I had brown and red highlights in my hair.

I stopped having chemical treatments done to my hair until I was in year 2 of Polytechnic when I spotted a short bob and two tone color in my hair. Following that, it was only in my last year of Uni that I rebonded my hair again somewhere in July and I had my hair colored during the same year in December. And in the following year, I had my hair colored again.

Here's a summary table of all of the hair chemical treatments that I have done throughout these years.

Although it may seem little compared to some of my friends whom change their hair color every few months, but it is certainly damaging, no? So how do I keep my hair in shape especially now that my hair length is almost reaching my waist? Read on to find out more!

Although I don't quite think that my hair is in the best shape, I have got family members, colleagues, friends and even fellow bloggers whom always ask about my hair. Of all, the most commonly asked questions include,

"How come the ends of your hair ain't dry?"
"How come you have got no split ends even though your hair is super long?"
"Do you go for hair treatments every month?"
"What shampoos or conditioners do you use?"
"What hair serum do you use?"
"Did you rebond your hair just recently? Why is it so straight?"
"How come your hair is still in immaculate condition even though you rebonded and colored your hair?"

Some even ask hilarious questions like,

"Is your hair real?"
"Are you wearing a wig? Because it looks too perfect."

Well, the most fundamental would be choosing a shampoo suitable for your scalp and a conditioner and hair treatment for your hair type. Dry scalp and dry hair is different. One can have dry scalp but oily hair or oily scalp and dry hair. So make sure you choose the right shampoo for your scalp because trust me, you won't want to risk having flakes on your scalp when you have dry scalp and you use a shampoo that is meant for oily scalp. Before I talk about conditioner and hair treatment, here are some tips.

Tip #1: Shampoo your scalp first, then your hair
Tip #2: Do not apply shampoo directly onto your scalp. Lather it well with a bit of water, make sure it has got a bit of bubbles before applying it on your scalp.

Some of my favourite shampoos include:

1) Head & Shoulders Smooth and Silky (good old trusty shampoo that I have been using for ages!)

After shampooing, I cannot stress the importance of conditioning and/or applying hair treatment/mask. No matter what the shampoo claims - either to condition or moisture your hair, you must never skip conditioning or applying hair treatment/mask to your hair if you want luscious, beautiful locks.

Some of my favourite conditioners include:

For maximum results, I suggest using conditioner and hair treatment/mask after shampooing your hair but if you are really pressed for time, the very least you should do is to use hair treatment/mask after shampooing each time you shampoo your hair. Trust me, it makes a whole lot of difference. Here's a tip for you all when applying hair treatment/mask to your hair.

Tip #3: Massage your hair with hair treatment/mask

1) Take a small section of hair.
2) Using both of your thumbs, rub product onto hair in a downward motion.

Some of my favourite hair treatment/mask includes:

1) Mod's Hair Aqua Clear Treatment

Now that I have let you in on my secret to beautiful hair, let me share with you yet another amazing hair product that I have tried recently.

Pure Luxury Intense Moisture Shampoo and Hair Repair Treatment

Rich Pure Luxury Intense Moisture Shampoo

What is it:

A truly extravagant daily shampoo that delivers intense moisture & shine. Hair is gently cleansed whilst Pro-Vitamin B5 strengthens dry, damaged areas. Aloe Vera Extract moisturises & hydrates and Avocado Oil leaves hair feeling soft & smooth. Derivatives of Coconut Oil help reduce static and ensure hair looks truly exquisite and full of shine. Ideal for all hair types especially dry and chemically treated hair.

My thoughts:

I was sent Rich Pure Luxury Intense Moisture Shampoo so that I can use it together with Rich Pure Luxury Hair Repair Treatment. I wasn't having too high hopes on it because how different can shampoos be afterall? It smells rather pleasant and the texture of it is richer compared to other shampoos. Best of it is that it suits my scalp! My scalp can be rather sensitive at times and it can't just accept any other shampoos.

Rich Pure Luxury Hair Repair Treatment

What is it:

Hydrolysed Keratin helps strengthen hair and Mineral Oils smooth the cuticle to create beautifully soft locks. Silk Amino Acids strengthen weak, brittle hair leaving it feeling healthier & shinier. Frizz is reduced and hair is protected against future heat styling and chemical treatments.

My thoughts:

The scent of Rich Pure Luxury Hair Repair Treatment is lighter compared to Rich Pure Luxury Intense Moisture Shampoo though it smells equally good. I quite like Rich Pure Luxury Hair Repair Treatment because of its rich and thick texture. I tend to prefer hair treatments such as Mod's Hair Aqua Clear Treatment that have got thick texture compared to those that have got a lighter texture such as Kose Happy Bath Day Hair Pack. Reason being - hair treatments that have a thicker texture are usually richer and nourishes my hair better.

After shampooing, I apply Rich Pure Luxury Hair Repair Treatment to my hair, starting from the position of my ear all the way down. Then, I massage the hair treatment into my hair (divided into small sections) with my thumb and index finger and rinse by the time I am done with all sections.

After using this hair treatment, my hair feels so much smoother and softer! It also made my hair more 'airy', bouncy (though I don't have curls) or maybe lightweight is the right word to use here.

Would I recommend this?

Absolutely yes!

Yet another holy grail product to add to my list?

Yes, you bet!

I found a video on Rich Pure Luxury Hair Repair Collection on Youtube that shows how to achieve fabulous hair with Rich Pure Luxury Hair Repair Collection. You might want to check it out, its quite interesting.

Some of the products that excites me from the video are Rich Pure Luxury Intensive Volume Spray (I can really do with more volume at my roots!), Rich Pure Luxury Maximum Brillance Protect & Shine (I want more shine in my hair!) and Rich Luxury Sure Hold Hairspray.

They even have got styling products such as Rich Satin Professional Titanium Styler, Rich Satin Touch Professional Hairdryer and Rich Satin Touch Large Paddle Brush! Its such a pity that these products aren't available in Singapore yet but I certainly hope they would be soon if not the next best thing would be to order them online.

I hope you like this post! Thanks for reading!

Patricia

Beauty Clinic Mediheal Aqua Smart Filler Mask and Collagen Smart Filler Mask review

beauty clinic mediheal aqua smart filler mask and collagen smart filler mask

Hi lovelies, not sure if you remember me sharing about Leaders Clinic 2 step masks and Leaders Medieu Sensitive Sun Cream last year, I just wanted to share that Leaders Clinic range is now renamed as Beauty Clinic!

I know most of you must be thinking if the change in brand name will affect how their products work? Read on to find out more!

Beauty Clinic 2-Step Collagen Smart Filler Mask

beauty clinic mediheal collagen smart filler mask

What is it:

- Improves elasticity which has been damaged by the external environment
- Contains a filler clinic system fill with elasticity building ingredients such as snail mucus components (mucin), marine collagen, and coenzyme Q10
- Restores suppleness and firmness to the skin.

My thoughts:

There are more and more brands come up with 2 step masks. So far, I have tried Leaders Clinic, Beauty Clinic as well as My Beauty Diary 2 step masks. So what makes 2 step masks different from the regular face masks?

For Beauty Clinic, 2 step mask consists of

Step 1: Mask Base Ampoule

beauty clinic mediheal collagen smart filler mask step 1 mask base ampoule

After cleansing my face and applying toner, I apply the mask base ampoule onto my face. Don't belittle this small sachet of ampoule, its more than enough for your face and neck. I usually apply the leftover to my elbows.

As if the Mask Base Ampoule ain't moisturizing enough, there's still Step 2: Collagen Smart Filler Mask. Generally speaking, I love Beauty Clinic masks. They are made of silk cellulose which fits snugly on my face and I need not worry about them dropping off my face while doing other chores. I usually like to mask and blog at the same time.

After masking with Beauty Clinic 2-step Collagen Smart Filler Mask, my skin feels plumper and the area at the side of my eyes which felt dry and was close to peeling previously felt smoother and did not itch. As I grow older (sighs), I realised that my skin is giving me more problems. I never used to experience dry skin but now, the areas that are prone to dryness are my cheeks and especially the area at the side of my eyes. I also realised that my pores became less visible, probably due to the plumping effect that I get from Beauty Clinic 2-step Collagen Smart Filler Mask!

Beauty Clinic 2-Step Aqua Smart Filler Mask

beauty clinic mediheal aqua smart filler mask

What is it:

- Vitally hydrates dry skin and regenerates skin
- Forms a moisture coating film and induces moist energy deep into the skin
- Improves skin’s moisture-retention ability with a filler clinic system containing moisture building ingredients such as aquaxyl, phyto oligo and ceramide

My thoughts:

I don't know about you girls but normally after masking, I apply moisturizer to 'lock' the goodness of the mask in. However, this time round after I had Beauty Clinic 2-step Aqua Smart Filler Mask on, I didn't apply moisturizer on top of it. After cleansing my face the following day, my skin still looks well-moisturized as if I had moisturizer on the previous day. I noticed that my skin looks plumper and smoother.

Would I recommend Beauty Clinic 2-step Smart Filler Masks?
Definitely yes!

If you really want me to choose 1 out of the 2 Beauty Clinic 2-step Smart Filler masks as my favourite, it will be.... Beauty Clinic 2-step Aqua Smart Filler Mask!

I hope you like this post. Thanks for reading!

Love,
Patricia

On Day 3, we headed to Mahboonkrong (MBK) Center มาบุญครอง after breakfast via BTS. The nearest BTS Station to MBK is National Stadium.

Upon exiting the station, I came across this stall that sells a lot of cute printed T-shirts that have got embroidery designs and even rhinestones! Couldn't resist but to buy a few of them for my cousins.

Came across these cards which have got different retailers' promotion (some offer discounts or special prices) printed on them. What an innovative way to do promotion yea? The Thais are really good at it!

After that, I passed by a shop that does customization of wedding red packet (ang pow) boxes. I think this is really creative and it would definitely be a sell-out if they have this in Singapore. I mean, who doesn't like a personalized touch for their wedding?

If you are looking for Thailand beauty brands, there are quite a few of them in MBK which I have covered rather comprehensively in one of my previous post, Global Beauty Shopping: Bangkok Beauty Shopping Guide.

This Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Silk billboard advertising caught my attention. I don't think we have got this particular product in Singapore though.

I love the fact that they have got shops within the BTS station itself where you can shop even before you tap out of the station. How cool is that, no?

After that, we headed to Siam Paragon.

Siam Paragon

Opening hours: 10am - 8pm

Nearest BTS station: Central Station

Maybe its due to the fact that visual merchandising was one of my favourite module back in school, I couldn't help but to snap a couple of window displays.

We came across this corner that had a lot of magazines on display. Guess what is it? Is it a bookstore? Or magazine stand?

It is.. Siam Paragon Magazine Gallery where you can browse the magazines for free! Best of all, they have got plenty of chairs available so you can read the magazines in comfort.

Check out the range of the magazines that is available in Siam Paragon Magazine Gallery.

In the evening, we took the Suvarnabhumi Airport Rail Link to Suvarnabhumi Airport to pick my cousin up.

Look how spacious the station is!

Our single trip 'ticket'
I think our single trip 'ticket' looks super cute! You tap it like how you tap your ez-link card upon entering and drop it in the coin slot upon exiting.

I don't know why but the station reminds me a lot of our Expo MRT station back home. Its enclosed so its a bit stuffy after a while especially when the platform is full of passengers.

We had R burger for dinner. It was my first time trying R burger. The burger bun is so soft, now I know why my friend, W loves it so much!

Check out how different the Coca-cola can packaging look. I don't know about you but I absolutely love checking out how packaging of the same product differs in different countries. Maybe its the marketing streak in me.
